We hope you can join us October 24th for a special movie presentation at Veterans Middle School. The film begins promptly at 6pm, conversation & more resources afterwards. How is media influencing our children? How can we protect our children against substance misuse? The growing dangers of fentanyl, & more. Content appropriate for teens & adults.
The Vets MS vocal soloists will be performing jazz & pop standards with the group Swinglane (Pictured here) on Monday, May 22 at 6 pm in the Vets MS auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!
Veterans MS Orchestra and Band members along with their teacher, Mr. Daigle, are visiting elementary schools to encourage future students to join the fun! This morning they put on quite a performance for Oakland Beach 5th graders! Did you know they perform during lunches throughout the year, followed by a celebratory pizza party? Awesome. Big thanks to our MS students for sharing how beneficial and enjoyable music is with their future peers! For some video of their performance, check out Warwick Public School's Instagram.

The Spring Concerts on Thursday, June 16th: Reporting times are 15 minutes before each performance for each student to sign in for attendance. STUDENTS WILL USE THE F-CORRIDOR TO SIGN IN AND ENTER THE STAGE. The concert dress will be all black. Next year, we will have a uniform look again as in the past. As you may be aware, the US shipping problems that are happening were a problem this year and will ultimately change our uniform for next year. I would like to thank the chorus students who have endured the Covid-related Distance Learning and this year’s attendance at rehearsals. Your help as parents in supporting the music program has helped immensely. The fact that we have not had an all-participation chorus concert since December 2019 is fantastic, and we should all look forward to June 16, 2022! These students have given quite the effort and their hard work will pay off in their performances. Dear Vets Family,
Over the past few days, we have seen a sharp increase in COVID numbers school-wide. As a result, we are going to have PCR Testing being conducted on-site Monday, May 16th, and Tuesday, May 17th.
If you would like to have your child tested please print and fill out the attached consent form and return it to school with your child. If you do not wish to have your child tested please disregard the form, do not fill it out. Tests will only be available to those who provide consent.
Given testing timeframes we cannot guarantee that every student who brings back a consent form will be tested, however, we will do everything within our power to accommodate everyone.
WHILE YOUR CHILD DOES NOT HAVE TO QUARANTINE DUE TO MULTIPLE EXPOSURES SCHOOL-WIDE, RIDOH HIGHLY RECOMMENDS YOU MONITOR YOUR CHILD FOR SYMPTOMS. THE CDC & RIDOH GUIDELINES RECOMMEND THOSE EXPOSED WEAR A MASK FOR 10 DAYS, HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK. RIDOH ALSO RECOMMENDS TESTING ON DAY 5.
We also have home testing kits available at the school. If you would like one please contact the school. They will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Connie Ribera, WPS COVID Coordinator, at constance.ribera@warwickschools.org. You may also utilize our Warwick Public Schools COVID Hotline at (401)734-3030.
May 18th from 3-8 pm there will be a Blood Drive at Warwick Vets. Today, hospitals actually need to pick and choose who will be receiving blood. This is due to the fact that there is such a shortage of blood in RI. The blood supply currently stands at a 2-to-3-day level; platelets along with types O and B- are at just a 1-to-2-day supply. This is well below the ideal inventory of 5-7 days. Please try to donate on this date or make an appointment.
Hello Vets Community!
We are preparing for our annual Memorial Day celebration at school this year.
We will be having a Wear Red, White & Blue day on Friday, May 13th in order to raise funds for this event. Please consider making a donation for this event and wear your best red, white & blue attire- Patriotic hats are allowed. We appreciate your generosity as we prepare to honor our local heroes at the event on May 24th.
