On Tuesday, April 7, Warwick Vets' and Winman's Unified Basketball faced off at Vets. Vets 7th and 8th grade students packed the stands, cheering on the Hurricanes and the Warriors. Student-athletes competed with heart, supported one another, and celebrated moments both on and off the court.
The game featured halftime performances from the Vets pep band and the Vets Unified Cheerleading squad. From big plays to even bigger smiles, this game represented that inclusion and unity make our community stronger. It was a close game, but the Warriors pulled out on top, winning 26 to 22. A big thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and students that supported this outstanding event.
The Vets Unified Club's next event will be a Polar Plunge on April 11th as part of the Special Olympics. You can donate or register here: https://give.specialolympicsri.org/teams/25833-warwick-veterans-middle-school?uid=1279802&ref=1
