unifiedweek

This year, Vets has created an opportunity for all Warwick students, employees, and residents to be part of our Unified Schools initiative. The Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools program is aimed at promoting social inclusion through intentionally planned and implemented activities affecting systems-wide change in K–12 schools. The program creates school climates where students with disabilities feel welcome and are routinely included in, and feel a part of, all activities, opportunities and functions. Our district currently participates in the Unified Champion Schools program through unified sports at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. There are also a number of schools in our district that have an extracurricular Unified Club available, offering a meaningful option for students who prefer activities outside of competitive sports.

We have planned a district-wide school spirit week planned for Pledge Week, March 2-6, 2026. If you would like to wear official WPS Unified merchandise order your Unified merchandise by February 17th at this link: https://looktoelitestores.com/warwick_unified_sports. (Huge shout-out to Isaac Vargas-Morales from the Warwick Bridge Program for creating the t-shirt design!)

Vets also has it's own Unified t-shirt and can be ordered at this link (also by February 17th): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe6OzmiQS6NxdY9lDqgRFUsFmx3uD-P8OCibGOeSVBxqvABEg/viewform?usp=preview
