As part of a 6th grade curriculum, students engage in project-based learning. Two 6th grade Current Events PBL classes on Team Tsunami and Team Phoenix organized a drive for Operation Stand Down Rhode Island. OSDRI is a non-profit organization that works to help homeless veterans in the state. Members of the RI Air National Guard visited the classes this week to donate to the drive and discuss their service in the military with students.
In total, Vets collected over 40 boxes of non-perishable foods and hygiene supplies that will go to OSDRI as aids homeless veterans here in Rhode Island.
