Special Olympics Unified Sports is a fast-growing initiative that brings people with, (athletes), and without, (partners), disabilities together on the same team to compete. It is a program which fosters respect, dignity, and advocacy for people with intellectual disabilities.
We are looking for both athletes and partners. Partners will assist and encourage athletes to compete and help them to feel like part of a team and the school community.
Practices will be held once a week after school.
Students will change in locker rooms and meet in the gym prior to practice.
Races are about 1 mile in length.
**In order to participate paperwork will need to be submitted before the first practice**
More information on dates will be out, once finalized.
